Francisco Dubert García

Francisco Dubert García has been a lecturer in the Department of Galician Philology at the University of Santiago Compostela since 2000. He began working at ILG on a grant in 1989, helping to prepare the Atlas Lingüístico Galego (ALGa) for publication. His involvement in ALGa led to an interest in the study of language variation in general, and in Galician dialectology in particular. He finished his doctorate in 1998 with a thesis on the form of Galician spoken in the city of Santiago de Compostela.

Francisco Dubert has also worked on the description of the phonology and inflectional morphology of Galician from both synchronic and diachronic perspectives, with special attention to the phenomena of dialectal variation. He is currently Co-director of journal Verba.
