Gloria Viviana Nieto Martín is a linguist and educator with a solid, specialized academic background. Her academic foundation is built upon a Master's in Spanish Linguistics from the Instituto Caro y Cuervo and a Bachelor's in Spanish-English from the Universidad Pedagónica Nacional. She subsequently became a PhD Candidate in Translation Studies, Professional and Audiovisual Translation at the University of Alicante, additionally completing a Master's in Hispanic Lexicography from the Royal Spanish Academy and the University of León. She completed a Master's degree Applied Linguistics for the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Jaén. Her academic excellence was recognized with scholarships from the Carolina Foundation and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), which she undertook at the Colombian Academy of the Language. In the professional sphere, she works as a Spanish teacher for foreigners at both the Instituto Caro y Cuervo and the Universidad Externado de Colombia. Her role as a teacher trainer extends to institutions such as the Universidad del Magdalena in Colombia and the Universidad Ricardo Palma in Peru. Within the Instituto Caro y Cuervo, she holds a coordination role in several training programs for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFL). Among her responsibilities is the coordination of the Diploma in Pedagogy and Didactics for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (in both in-person and remote modalities). the Diploma in Training Teachers of Written Spanish as a Second Language for Signing Deaf Students as well as the Summer Course for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Gloria Viviana Nieto Martín is recognized for her applied approach to lexicography in pedagogy and teaching.
